Greenhouse Gas Reduction
Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, are released by the use of fossil fuels. These gases build up in our atmosphere and create an insulating layer around the Earth that prevents heat from escaping. This phenomenon is known as the "greenhouse effect."

When left in balance, the greenhouse effect is beneficial to the earth because it retains heat within our atmosphere, keeping temperatures warm enough to sustain life. However, recent buildup of greenhouse gases, caused in part by the burning of fossil fuels for energy, is throwing off nature’s delicate balance.

By producing a renewable fuel, EnerTech's SlurryCarb™ process creates the opportunity to reduce fossil fuel use. Unlike burning fossil fuels, burning E-Fuel does not release any new carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The carbon in E-Fuel was already circulating through our environment. This means that for every ton of coal we replace with E-Fuel, we prevent, on average, over a ton of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere. Annually, a single SlurryCarb™ facility can prevent about 50,000 tons of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere.
