The renewable fuel, called eFuel, is being used by local cement kilns as an environmentally sound alternative to coal. At full capacity, the Rialto SlurryCarb® Facility will produce over 60,000 tons of eFuel per year.

County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County: The Sanitation Districts are a partnership of 24 independent special districts serving about 5.3 million people. The Sanitation Districts provide environmentally sound, cost-effective wastewater and solid waste management and, in the process, convert waste into resources such as reclaimed water, energy, and recycled materials.

Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD): OCSD provides wastewater treatment for 2.5 million residents in Orange County, California. The agency is a leader in biosolids management. OCSD was the first agency in the nation to receive certification of its Biosolids Environmental Management System from the National Biosolids Partnership.

San Bernardino Municipal Water Department (SBMWD): The SBMWD serves approximately 185,000 people in the Inland Empire region of the Los Angeles basin. SBMWD is committed to providing trusted, quality service to the community. Services provided by the SBMWD include water supply, water reclamation, geothermal heating, and administrative services.

The City of Riverside: The City of Riverside has a population of approximately 280,000. It is committed to providing its residents with a safe, attractive and prosperous community. Riverside’s regional wastewater treatment plant processes approximately 30 million gallons per day of wastewater and produces 150 tons per day of biosolids.

The City of Rialto: An ethnically diverse and family oriented community, the City of Rialto is committed to a high level of service to its citizens to ensure long-term vitality of the community. Rialto and EnerTech have developed a long-term agreement whereby the City of Rialto will lease the Rialto facility site. Rialto has also dedicated its entire biosolids production of approximately 25 wet tons per day to the project.
The Rialto SlurryCarb® Facility is operated by NAES Corporation (NAES). With over 20 years of experience, NAES specializes in providing operations and maintenance services for an array of generating technologies. NAES has an outstanding safety record for plant operation.
Using eFuel instead of fossil fuels prevents the release of additional greenhouse gasses into our atmosphere. Annually, eFuel produced by the Rialto SlurryCarb® Facility will prevent over 80,000 tons of fossil based carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere in Southern California.
The Rialto SlurryCarb® Facility is creating jobs for the surrounding community. Construction of the facility resulted in 20+ short-term construction jobs. Operation of the facility is generating 20+ ongoing positions.
