The demonstration facility, built in conjunction with EnerTech's Japanese licensee, Mitsubishi Corporation, processed Municipal Solid Waste, a much more difficult feedstock than biosolids due to its lack of uniformity. The facility operated successfully from 1997 to 2000.
The Ube City Facility proved the viability of the SlurryCarb™ process on a commercial scale over an extended period. With operating experience from the Japanese facility, EnerTech engineers have been able to design the 900 ton per day Los Angeles Regional Facility.
